Upper East Side Doors

Today was big day for me. It's my first time "posing" for my blog. I have a new respect for bloggers. It's a terrifying experience to be in on the street posing for pictures when people are walking by, especially in outfits you think are cute and fashionable and worthy of being photographed. It's not very humbling. Plus it doesn't help being camera shy or a little sheepish. I think know my heart was pounding the entire time. But I must say, it was a great achievement to overcome a fear of mine. I think I made it to Step 2 on getting over my stage fright.

Living on the Upper East side rather than Downtown has some perks. It's so much less crowded, and it makes for the perfect background.  Instead of rats and garbage we have flower beds and beautiful brownstones. What I love most about living up here are the beautiful doors. Most of the buildings up here are converted carriage houses. Today we took photos of the Historic District of 73rd St. in between 3rd and Lexington Ave. One block over is Carrie Bradshaw's apartment, and two blocks down is Holly Golightly (Audrey Hepburn's character in Breakfast at Tiffany's) apartment.
